Stockbridge Festival Chorus Begins Rehearsals of Mozart Requiem

Stockbridge Festival Chorus, a 38-year old community chorus based at The First Congregational Church of Stockbridge, begins rehearsals on Sunday, January 26 in preparation for its concert on Saturday, April 12 of the Mozart Requiem.

All rehearsals take place in the church’s sanctuary, located at 4 Main Street in Stockbridge, from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm. The church is fully accessible.The 50-member chorus is conducted by Tracy Wilson and rehearsal accompanist is Aaron Likness. Dues are $50, to be collected at the first attended rehearsal, to cover the cost of music and concert expenses.  Checks should be made out to Stockbridge Festival Chorus prior to check in. Cash is also accepted. Scholarships are available to offset dues. No auditions are required; only enthusiasm for choral singing. Singers cannot miss more than three rehearsals, and the dress rehearsal on Friday, April 11 is mandatory. The last day to join the chorus is Sunday, February 16.

Soloists for the Requiem are Samantha Talora, soprano; Mary Verdi, alto; Rich Geiler, tenor; and John Demler, bass. Ed Lawrence is the concert organist, and a trombone trio and timpani will also perform the Requiem.
