Out of Darkness Walk to Prevent Suicide is Sat., Sept. 29

September 1, 2018

We are forming a team to fundraise and walk on Sat., Sept. 29 in support of the Out of Darkness Walk to Prevent Suicide (https://afsp.donordrive.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=donorDrive.teamParticipants&teamID=181813). Our Mission & Action Committee has agreed to match the first $1,000 donated for this Walk and also Construct’s 30th Annual Walk to Prevent Homelessness on Sun., Sept. 23! Join us for one or both.
This walk raises funds and awareness regarding suicide prevention efforts. When you walk in the Out of the Darkness Walks, you join the effort with hundreds of thousands of people to raise awareness and funds that allow the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) to invest in new research, create educational programs, advocate for public policy, and support survivors of suicide loss.

Walk Date: Saturday, September 29, 2018
Walk Location: Monument Mountain High School – Great Barrington, MA
Check-in/Registration Time: 9:00 am
Walk Begins: 10:00 am
Walk Ends: 12:00 pm
The walk route will begin on the track of Monument Mountain High School then follow a path around the campus that will include grassy sections, sidewalks, and gravel paths, with some inclines and hills. For those who prefer a flat course and walking surface may stay on the track for the duration of the walk. As our walkers move throughout the walk course, we ask for “Steps In Silence” – a time for quiet reflection during the short shaded section of the walk course touching the wooded edges of the campus.
