Dear Church Family,

October is here.  In New England, October is a great month of liminality. It would take willful stubbornness not to notice the change that comes throughout the month.  The leaves literally change their colors before dropping to the ground and revealing a whole new landscape.  The last vestiges of summer finally give way to the new routines of school, work, and church.  The very air feels and smells different while not just the amount of light but its quality begins to change becoming weaker and warmer with golden hues and softer shadows.

In October, church life changes as we joyfully resume things like Sunday School, service, choir, study, and fellowship even as we think ahead through welcoming new members and stewardship.
