Lent is upon us. It is such a rich and pregnant time in the church year. As creation begins to stir into life all around us, Lent is our invitation to a new life as well. Pope Francis offers a helpful frame for this season; “Lent comes providentially to reawaken us, to shake us from our lethargy.” Central to our Lent Journey is to remember that it is a time of coming to life. If that sounds different to you, strange, or even contradictory I wouldn’t be surprised.
