Rev. Jim Antal protesting Keystone XL Pipeline at White HouseAfter preaching during morning worship, Rev. Dr. Jim Antal, Minister and President of the Massachusetts Conference of the United Church of Christ, will lead a talk about his experiences working on the international change regarding climate change from a faith-based perspective. This will be a time of inspiration, challenge, and education. Don’t miss it–and invite a friend!
Rev. Jim Antal demonstrates on climate changeAfter teaching and leading two national peace organizations, Jim spent twenty years leading vital churches in Newton, MA and Shaker Heights, OH. He authored and was lead proponent of our denomination’s vote in 2013 to divest its investment from fossil fuel companies–the first denomination to do so. He has also engaged in the spiritual act of civil disobedience numerous times, most recently at the White House to demonstrate against the Keystone XL pipeline. In his role as Conference Minister, he is the public voice and strategic leader of the Conference seeking to enlarge the witness of the United Church of Christ in Massachusetts.
