We are somewhat traditional but fairly informal in our approach. We pray, sing, and interpret the scriptures together. Sermons are based on Biblical texts. We generally follow the New Common Lectionary. However, we do not take the Bible literally. We strive to be intellectually honest and spiritually open in our approach. We attempt to interpret and apply Biblical truths to our current life and times; even referencing scriptures and insights from other religious traditions when it inspires or clarifies.
Children participate in the first fifteen minutes or so of the worship service before leaving for Sunday School classes. Our music is traditional but eclectic. Seasonal worship services such as Christmas, Easter, Ash Wednesday, Maundy Thursday, etc. are also observed here.
On the first Sunday of each month, we share the sacrament of Holy Communion. We make it very clear that all are invited to the table. We are the custodians of the sacrament, but not the gatekeepers. All who feel led by God to participate are welcomed at the table here.
